Kathrin Baum-Höfer

Kathrin Baum-Höfer was born in Germany. She studied at the School of Dance Leipzig and danced as a soloist with the ballet of Staatsoper Berlin. Her repertoire included a wide range of works spanning the classical ballet and contemporary dance repertoires.

She completed her training as a ballet teacher at the Academy of Performing Arts in Mannheim with teachers Birgit Keil and Vladimir Klos. Since 2007, she has taught at the Berlin State Ballet School, where she teaches various age groups in classical dance, repertoire and gymnastics and conducts rehearsals of the repertoire of the Berlin State Ballet School, such as Le Corsaire and choreographies by Wayne McGregor, Marco Goecke, and Mauro de Candia. She has successfully prepared many students for national and international competitions.

As a jury member, she has been invited to judge competitions and festivals such as Porto Allegre (Brazil), and Portugal and Tokyo (Japan). She has taught intensive programs at Arte Balletto in Italy, and at summer intensive programs at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, Ballet West Academy, and the American Academy of Ballet in New York. In addition to her work as a ballet teacher, she is largely responsible for the administrative duties at the Berlin State Ballet School.
